About Me

My name is D. Elaine Miller. I am a Texas State Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).  I earned my Masters degree in Professional Counseling from Amberton University in Garland, Texas.

As a counselor, I have worked with clients who have experienced chemical dependency, those who have experienced sexual abuse during childhood/adolescence, addictions, grief/loss, relationship issues, work place issues, and domestic violence survivors.  I have worked with people having self-esteem and skewed perspective issues. I have worked with various ages, individuals and groups in diverse counseling formats. I have advised counselors who worked under me to help them meet the needs of the client. I get pleasure in working with a plethora people.

My approach to counseling is Eclectic. I utilize goal-reaching methods that consist of a multitude of theories to maximize the achievement of the client. Having worked in multiple settings and with many clients, I have gained a vast scope of experience. I am convinced the with the participation of the client, that long and short-term goals and addressing various issues can be resolved, and the clients can be empowered via their own determination.
